One Year of Home at Home: Co-Founder Joey Torkildson’s Reflection

On October 24, 2025, Home at Home celebrates its first anniversary. As we approach this milestone, we’re taking time to reflect on the journey that brought us here. Throughout the month, each of our founders will share their perspective on the past year and what it has meant to them.

Co-Founder Joey Torkildson’s Reflection

A Year of Gratitude and Momentum

This past year with Home at Home has been nothing short of humbling and inspiring. We set out to address one of the largest societal challenges in America….helping aging adults stay safe and confident in their homes. What began as a small step has quickly gained momentum, reminding us that even the biggest problems are solved one family, one home, one conversation at a time.

Through thoughtful modifications and education, we’ve seen firsthand the relief, dignity, and independence this work can bring. And while we’re still at the beginning of our journey, the vision is clear: what we’re building has the power to transform how communities support aging.

We are deeply grateful for the trust placed in us and energized by the road ahead. This is only the start….and where we’re going is very big.
